Olympics & Holidays

Oh sorry been a bit distracted with the Olympics and the holidays!

How amazing was the opening ceremony, makes me proud to be British!

So I have heard that these Layla Soft Touch have a wax in them which is what given them the soft finish.  Not matt just simply not shiny was how it was put.  I have asked layla HQ for further clarification.

So todays colour is the burgundy.  A really deep rich colour with a hint of glitter.  very pretty!

that's all.

have a great weekend

Soft Touch Green

Sorry, back again :-) so Layla Soft Touch Green is another almost matt glitter.  The colour is an amazing lime green and so pretty.

I love the fact that this range is very different colours.

So my husband thinks that we should bite the bullet and take the Layla holographic range to Olympia!  It will cost a fortune so I am a bit unsure? Layla would like for me to take the whole range along but again I am not sure?  Decisions, decisions!

Right late for getting ready for work!

Enjoy the sunshine

Layla Soft Touch Neon Pink

So this is the Layla Soft Touch in Neon Pink. Like the Stone it has a pearl like finish whilst still being matt.  the shimmer is a very pale pinky silver and again the glitter is not sparkly.

I think that this is the perfect holiday colour and would also look amazing stamped with Konad M57 plate with animal print in black!

Layla Soft Touch Stone

Another Layla Soft Touch polish, this time in Stone.  I can not get the polish to photograph properly, it is a matt grey/lilac with a pinkish pearlescent sheen, it is certainly not a flat matt!

Right time to dash, the sun is out and i need a Pimms fix :-)

Layla Soft Touch Review, Marshmallow Twinkle & Mojito Green

So I went on a cleaning frenzy last night glove free and managed to totally wreck my nails!  The Layla Soft Touch never chipped but did not react well to the chemicals and rubbed away at the ends.  I think if you take a little care and wear gloves for cleaning, washing up etc the last would be great.  Mine would have lasted longed had it touched up the tips but I am not sure that was the aim of the experiment?  Might have to re-do it being careful.

So Marshmallow Twinkle is a matt glitter.  It certainly is not shiny, I have some Christmas balls with this effect, it does glitter gently but is more pearlescent.  It is grainy to the touch bit quite smooth as the glitter particle are tiny.  All in all very pretty.

Layla Soft Touch Mojito Green Magneffect is a beautiful rich green with a softer green stripe.  More of a winter colour perhaps but still very pretty.

Day 4 & Deep Violet

So day 4 saw the kitchen being cleaned glove free!  The polish is still chip free but the cleaning did cause some wear on the tips. The polish still looks Ok, but will see how it holds out tomorrow!

The Deep Violet Layla Soft Touch Magneffect is a beautiful sultry purple with lilac stripes. Stunning!  I think that when I am done with the testing I will swap to this one :-)

Purple Diva Mirror Polish - LOVE!  What a gorgeous high chrome finish xxx

Day 3, Black as Ebony & Velvet Groove

So day 3 saw a slight disaster! I managed to get turquoise polish all over my thumb nail and a green glitter bottle smashed and covered me in polish and I caught my ring finger on the glass during clean up.  The evidence can clearly be seen in this close up photo, in the flesh it is not nearly as apparent.

So I still think that despite a hammering it is holding up well.  Even after so much hard work it is still chip free.  This colour is so easy to wear and the doesn't clash with anything, yesterday I matched it to a BMW on the M25, the wall paper at the pub and my sisters coffee mug lol.

I am also really impressed with the Layla Mirror range, Black as Ebony.  The effect is a high chrome finish that seems to level itself out and blend brush marks away.  My poppet below is a bit old and battered hence the scratches but again this is a high definition image!

So Velvet Groove is the next Layla Soft Touch on the list.  Again a Magneffect (thought I would do these first).  What can I say...... again the flash seems to make it a little more shiny but the colour is very true.  Lovely purple and pink/purple stripes.  My sisters favourite!

Day 2 & Brick Orange

Right then, so day 2 of the Layla Soft Touch challenge.  I went to work, did a bit of filing and a lot of typing, went to the cinema and ate too much chocolate out of a bag - CHIP FREE!  I also painted some other nails and got a blob of acetone on the polish so 1 corner of a nail is not perfect but nor would I expect it to be after being vandalised :-)

So then Brick Orange Soft Touch polish........ ORANGE it is not!  It looks orange in the bottle but it definitely looks more burgundy to me.  Again the finish is matt pearlescent.  I really like this colour but do not buy it if you want orange, pinky/burgundy then yes go for it!

Day 1 & Black metal Touch

So I decided to put the long last claim of the Layla Soft Touch polishes to the test!  I am super hard on my nails and do nothing to protect them.  I will photograph them each day, well nearly every day ;-) and see how it goes.  I will also show another of the polishes each day and discuss this.

So the new Layla Soft Touch polish as I have said before is not a flat matt, not quite a satin but also not quite like a suede.  When on they feel almost plasticy, very hard to explain!

So I have tiny hands, sausagey fingers and bitten nail but this picture was on day 1 having helped out at the school disco so taking lots of pennies, dishing out lots of change then washing up and clearing away.  CHIP FREE!

Layla have also introduced the Soft Touch to the Magneffect range.  The picture is of Black Metal Soft Touch with the magnet held straight.   The flash on the camera makes the image  look so much more shiny then it actually is, in the flesh this is a charcoal grey with silvery lines with a matt pearlescent finish.

Have compared the Layla Soft Touch and the regular megneffects I actually prefer the soft touch as it seems to give then a much more modern edge.

New In Today

So I had a little play today.  Ocean Rush blended with Emerald Divine.  Layla Soft Touch Black with a gloss tip and Coral Glam blended with Red Taboo

Coral Glam blended with Red Taboo

Metal Chrome, Purple Diva, Titanium Sky, Black as Ebony and Red hot

The door bell then rang and a box was delivered.  Layla had sent me the whole range of the new Soft Touch!!!!

These are not matt, not suede and not satin but somewhere inbetween. these polishes are designed to be long wearig and do not require a topcoat.

Some have glitter, some iridescent and some plain. They have also introduced this concept to the Magneffects!
